I am a productive dreamer, I am a dreamy maker. Sometimes, an object can tell a better story than I can. A story that makes the quiet everyday visible, a story that becomes a material longing for a better future. In my work I am drawn to soft, delicious, and discarded materials. I find beauty in repetition, in making things with my hands, and in the unremarkable.
Leonie Hillmann (*1998) is a German artist/designer currently based in the Netherlands. Before studying design, she completed a degree in Business Administration, shaping her attention to how value operates within production and culture. Her work insists on slowness and rest, explores refusal of consumption, and draws on feminist approaches to labor and material value. She holds a B.A. in Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven.
