I was promised sweets

2025

Draped in dark red fabric, this project presents an intimate edible installation that feels both inviting and slightly forbidden. Developed through an associative process of collages and visual research, the work unfolds across three food sculptures: frozen popcorn (‘Tell Me, How Does Anger Taste?’), a dissected grapefruit (‘I Tried to Remove All the Bitter Parts for You’), and a waffle sculpture (‘The House Itself Is Not Home Sweet Home’) this project aims to give space to the everyday, quiet stories. Through the relatable narratives, personal experiences are reframed as part of a collective struggle. Shown with videos, sounds and first-person subtitles, the pieces invite visitors to touch and taste — exploring intimacy, care and unease, while questioning the pressures of being a “good girl.”
