I was promised sweets

Draped in dark red fabric, this project presents an intimate edible installation that feels both inviting and slightly forbidden. Developed through an associative process of collages and visual research, the work unfolds across three food sculptures: frozen popcorn (‘Tell Me, How Does Anger Taste?’), a dissected grapefruit (‘I Tried to Remove All the Bitter Parts for You‘), and a waffle sculpture (‘The House Itself Is Not Home Sweet Home‘). Each sculpture is paired with a slow-moving video telling a personal story,  Themes of self-silencing, suppressed anger, and invisible labor are linked through the figure of the “good girl,” shaped by societal expectations to be accommodating and self-sacrificing. Visitors are encouraged to touch and taste, creating a multisensory experience in which food acts as a conduit for memory and the body.
